The Petroleum Division is the MMERE’s investment opportunities promoter in the energy sector. The Division is responsible for carrying out the function of promoting Solomon Islands as a viable investment destination for investors in the petroleum sector. The Division carries out this role by working closely with the Mines Division’s Tenement Section to promote and facilitate access to statistics, reports and maps produced by the Geological Survey Division’s Regional Mapping Section. These statistics, reports and maps include marine geological surveys and petroleum tenement maps.
Furthermore, the Division also plays an active role in raising awareness about the roles and responsibilities of the Ministry to investors and about the laws that regulate Solomon Islands petroleum sector.
