The Energy Division’s Policy, Planning and Management Section is the Solomon Islands Government’s main coordinator of policy formulation for the country’s energy sector. The Section carries out this task on behalf of the Director of Energy and in consultation with the Petroleum Division and the Ministry’s Corporate Services Division and other Sections of the Energy Division as well as with other government ministries, provincial governments and local communities.
Suggestions for legislative reforms and publication of national energy policies are some of the key outcomes of the policy formulation process.
