The project aims to promote the use of sustainable energy by replacing the secondary boarding school’s diesel powered generation mini-grids with solar hybrid generation. In doing this the project aims to achieve increased access to reliable and affordable electricity across all Selwyn College staff and student facilities. An added benefit that the project also aims to achieve is increased water supply across all staff and student facilities as the school’s water supply relies on electricity powered pumps.
